Robinhood Crypto Executive Departs After Five Years

Robinhood Crypto Chief Operating Officer Tanya Denisova is reportedly leaving the company after more than five years at the trading platform. The executive departure comes as Robinhood navigates slowing activity in its digital asset business and works to reduce reliance on cryptocurrency market cycles.

Denisova played a key role during Robinhood’s crypto expansion, helping oversee operations as the platform broadened its digital asset offerings.

Crypto Revenue Drops Sharply in First Quarter

The leadership change follows a difficult quarter for Robinhood, which missed earnings and revenue expectations largely due to weaker cryptocurrency trading activity. The company reported crypto revenue of $134 million in the first quarter, marking a 47% decline from $252 million during the same period a year earlier.

The slowdown reflects softer trading demand as crypto markets remain volatile and retail participation weakens.

Robinhood Expands Crypto Services Despite Market Pressure

Despite declining revenue, Robinhood continues expanding its crypto ecosystem through commission free trading for major digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and Dogecoin. The platform also offers crypto wallets, staking in select regions and onchain transfer services.

Robinhood has increasingly focused on diversifying beyond crypto market cycles while expanding digital asset services internationally as part of its long-term growth strategy.
