Sberbank, VTB and Other Registered Crypto Custodians

Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, was added to the custodian list alongside Atomyze, Voltari and Cloud Infrastructure. The exchange operator list includes T-Invest Lab, Zefir and Sistema-Crypto. VTB Bank appears on both lists, which gives it a role as an exchange operator and a custodian at the same time.

Sberbank Crypto Launch Date: Bitcoin, Ether and USDT

Sberbank said that it had applied for digital custodian status and plans to roll out its first crypto products on Dec. 1. It will begin with Bitcoin, Ether and USDt, offered through its existing SberBank Online, SberInvestments and SberBusiness platforms.

Russia Crypto Law Signed by Putin

The registrations follow a law signed by President Vladimir Putin in August that created a regulated framework for exchanges, custodians, brokers and investors. It places the market under the Bank of Russia’s oversight, while the ban on using crypto to pay for goods and services stays in place.
