New Crypto Rules Set to Take Effect September 1
The legislation governing crypto exchange activity is scheduled to come into force on September 1, 2026. Additional provisions related to the issuance and broader circulation of crypto assets are set to take effect a year later, on September 1, 2027, giving the market a phased rollout period.
A Sign of Growing Institutional Interest in Russia
The bank’s projection reflects growing expectations that formal regulation could unlock significant institutional and retail participation in Russia’s crypto market, positioning major financial institutions to play a central role as trading becomes legally structured for the first time.
