Samsung will let eligible Galaxy users in the United States send USDC stablecoins abroad through Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay, starting in the last week of October. The rollout covers 82 million US Galaxy devices.

The tool sits inside Samsung Wallet, with fiat on and off-ramps, rather than in a separate crypto app. Users can send USDC to compatible external wallets, with Solana and Sui infrastructure working behind the scenes, and the system runs in partnership with Bastion, a licensed US stablecoin custodian. Woncheol Chai, EVP and head of Samsung’s digital wallet team, said sending money abroad should feel as easy as using the wallet already on your phone, with no extra app and no private keys to manage.

Fees, Speed and Bank Transfers in 60 Countries

Samsung will not charge a fee on transfers, though receiving wallets or exchanges might, and speed depends on network conditions. The wallet will also support transfers to eligible bank accounts in over 60 countries, paid out in local currency, with fees varying by destination.

Samsung, Coinbase and Solana Partnership

Samsung calls this the next chapter of its work with Coinbase, which began last year when Galaxy users could fund Coinbase accounts through Samsung Pay. Coinbase will custody the USDC held in Samsung Wallet through Coinbase Prime, and Alec Lovett of Coinbase called it a major distribution milestone for USDC.

Solana Foundation Reaction and Global Expansion

Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, said stablecoins are moving from a crypto product to an everyday way of moving money. Samsung plans to enter more markets, depending on local regulations.
