How Tokenized Stocks Are Structured

Each token is backed one-for-one by an actual share and built to preserve economic benefits and shareholder rights, including dividends and voting. The tokens represent security entitlements instead of direct ownership on a company’s shareholder register, though conversion could become possible once issuers adopt tokenization. RQD will handle clearing, custody and settlement, while Ripple Prime plans to explore institutional uses.

NYSE and OKXICE Expansion Plans

The shares are also expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange’s planned 24/7 digital platform and the upcoming OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue, a joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange and OKX. Both depend on the venues launching and meeting regulatory requirements. The push follows the SEC’s “innovation exemption” last month, which opened a path for blockchain-based trading venues. Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo said the goal is to bring equities onchain while keeping investor protections intact.
