Southeast Asia’s Crypto Funding Rebounds to $680 Million, Driven by Fewer but Larger Deals

Blockchain companies across Southeast Asia have raised $680 million so far in 2026, more than double the total recorded throughout all of last year, according to a new market intelligence report. However, this recovery has been driven by a significantly smaller number of funding rounds, suggesting investors are increasingly concentrating capital toward a handful of established companies rather than spreading investments across many early-stage startups.

Crypto Financial Services Lead Investment Growth

Crypto focused financial services companies attracted the largest share of funding this year, followed by tokenization platforms and decentralized application development companies. Despite this year’s rebound, total funding remains well below the sector’s peak in 2022, when investment levels were several times higher than current figures.

Singapore Remains the Region’s Dominant Hub

Singapore continues to overwhelmingly lead Southeast Asia’s blockchain investment landscape, accounting for the vast majority of the region’s cumulative funding and hosting the largest concentration of blockchain companies. Indonesia’s capital ranks a distant second in terms of funding activity.

While the region has produced several blockchain unicorns over the years, successful exits through public listings remain rare compared to acquisitions, reinforcing the view that Southeast Asia’s crypto funding market is stabilizing around mature players rather than returning to its earlier speculative boom.
