SpaceX Stock Falls Over 50% As Broader Space Sector Sell-Off Deepens
SpaceX shares have tumbled more than 50% from their all time intraday high, joining a wider decline across space-related stocks that began even before the company's public debut on June 12. Data shows the Procure Space ETF had already peaked in late May, roughly two weeks before SpaceX started trading, meaning the company joined a downturn already in motion rather than triggering it.

SpaceX shares have tumbled more than 50% from their all time intraday high, joining a wider decline across space-related stocks that began even before the company’s public debut on June 12. Data shows the Procure Space ETF had already peaked in late May, roughly two weeks before SpaceX started trading, meaning the company joined a downturn already in motion rather than triggering it.

New-Space Stocks Show Steep Losses Across The Board
Bespoke Investment Group described the pullback as a sharp crash across space-related shares. An analysis of 17 new-space companies, including Rocket Lab, AST SpaceMobile, Redwire, Planet Labs, Intuitive Machines, BlackSky, and Virgin Galactic, found the median stock had surged 134% at its 2026 peak before falling 58% from that high. Ten of the seventeen stocks now show no gains for the year, and fourteen have lost half their value from 2026 highs.

No Clear Signs Of A Bottom Yet
Every established stock in the group trades below its 50-day moving average according to yahoo finance, with the median around 34% below that level. Still, most aren’t technically oversold, with the median 14-day Relative Strength Index near 36. SpaceX reports its first earnings as a public company on August 4.
