The firm was founded by Sakhib Waseem, Adam Ali and Mason Borda, who say they have advised on over $7 billion in transactions and helped deliver more than $1 billion in digital asset offerings.

Coinbase Named Exclusive Bitcoin Manager

Coinbase Asset Management, led by President Anthony Bassili, will be the exclusive manager of the Bitcoin holdings. Brett Tejpaul, Co-CEO of Coinbase Institutional, called the UAE a critical hub for digital asset adoption. Coinbase already holds a permission from ADGM’s financial regulator, granted in August, to run an international tokenization hub in Abu Dhabi, which shows how deep its presence in the Emirates has become.

Advisers and Investment Goal

Advisers and shareholders include Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Tejpaul and Lord Iain McNicol. The Sheikh said returns from the digital assets will be invested in hospitality and real estate across the Emirates, while Waseem pointed to the country’s regulatory clarity as the reason for choosing it.
