Bitcoin treasury company Strategy bought another 334 BTC for about $28.7 million, paying an average of $85,838.80 per coin between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4, according to a regulatory filing made Monday.

The purchase lifts its stash to 848,000 BTC, its largest ever, worth roughly $73 billion. The company paid an average of $75,440.70 per coin, around $64 billion in total including fees. That equals more than 4% of bitcoin’s 21 million supply cap and implies paper gains of about $9 billion. Executive chairman Michael Saylor had teased the buy on Sunday with a tracker chart captioned “More orange than ever,” a type of post that has usually come a day before an announcement, though recent practice has varied.

The company also repurchased 1.77 million STRC preferred shares for around $176.3 million, using $154.1 million from its cash reserve and $22.2 million from interest income. A further $142.5 million from the reserve paid preferred dividends and debt interest. Its USD Reserve stood at $4.88 billion and USD Cash at $833.4 million.
