Strive Could Become World’s Second-Largest Public Bitcoin Holder by Year End, CEO Says
Strive CEO Matt Cole says the bitcoin treasury company could potentially finish 2026 as the second largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin, following a sharp increase in purchases last month. The company added over 3,000 Bitcoin to its holdings in August alone, a significant jump from the much smaller amount it acquired the previous month.

Speaking during a podcast appearance this week, Cole clarified that reaching the number two spot is not the company’s primary expectation, but remains a realistic possibility depending on several favorable conditions falling into place.
Warrants Could Fuel Additional Bitcoin Purchases
Cole pointed to more than $700 million in outstanding company warrants set to expire in mid-October as a key factor. If the company’s stock price rises above the warrants’ exercise price, their conversion could provide substantial additional capital for further Bitcoin purchases, potentially unlocking well over a billion dollars in total buying capacity when combined with other funding sources.

Current Standing in the Bitcoin Treasury Rankings
Strive currently holds the fifth-largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury, having recently overtaken another major crypto company in the rankings. To reach the second-largest position, the company would need to significantly ramp up its weekly purchases over the remaining months of the year, a pace Cole suggested is achievable given the company’s recent buying momentum.
Company shares recently touched a year-to-date high, trading just below the warrants’ conversion price, and have significantly outperformed other major public Bitcoin treasury companies so far this year.
