Four Crypto Assets Now Available

BancaStato, which serves Switzerland’s Italian speaking Ticino region, joined Sygnum’s business to business banking platform to let customers buy, sell and hold Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Solana through its current web and mobile banking apps. The bank becomes the latest of more than 25 financial institutions using Sygnum’s platform for regulated digital asset services.

Built Into Existing Banking Infrastructure

The service runs through BancaStato’s Avaloq powered banking system, with Sygnum’s API connected directly into the platform. This setup removes the need for a separate order management system, cutting operational complexity for the bank. Sygnum’s Chief B2B Officer Fritz Jost said BancaStato is the first bank offering crypto trading this way through Avaloq’s software.

Sygnum Expands Across Europe

Sygnum’s banking partners already include Societe Generale-FORGE and PostFinance. In June, its Liechtenstein subsidiary secured a crypto asset service provider license under the EU’s MiCA framework, letting European banks adopt similar services without building their own licensed operations from scratch.
