Family Held at Gunpoint for More Than Eight Hours
According to prosecutors, the brothers traveled from Texas to Minnesota in September 2025 and forced their way into the victims’ home. The family was restrained with zip ties and threatened with firearms while the attackers demanded access to cryptocurrency accounts and storage devices.
Authorities Highlight Growing Threat to Crypto Holders
Investigators later identified and arrested the suspects near Houston after tracing evidence left at the scene. The brothers agreed to pay more than $8 million in restitution. The case adds to a growing number of violent crimes targeting cryptocurrency investors and holders worldwide.
