Tokenized real world assets have become the largest trading category on Hyperliquid, surpassing every other asset type combined for the first time in the platform’s history. RWA trading generated $25.1 billion in volume between July 13 and July 19, making up 52% of the exchange’s total weekly volume of $48.2 billion.

RWA Demand Grows Sharply Across The Platform

ARK Invest’s research director for digital assets noted that Hyperliquid’s RWA market alone outpaced the combined crypto perpetual trading volume of every other decentralized exchange. Over the past month, the number of RWA holders on the platform climbed 32% to 1.25 million users, while the total value of tokenized assets rose 3.5% to $36.7 billion. Hyperliquid earned $7.6 million in weekly revenue, placing it third among crypto applications behind stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle.

Industry Leaders Point To A Structural Shift

Circle’s co-founder and CEO called the trend a major structural shift in crypto markets, moving trading activity away from purely digital assets. The growth has also caught the attention of traditional finance, with NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange pushing regulators to allow round-the-clock onchain futures trading.
