Iran War Disrupts Travel, Pushes Back Token Plans
World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture linked to the Trump family, has delayed plans to sell a token tied to a Maldives resort project. The token sale, originally scheduled for next year, was pushed back after the Iran war disrupted travel across the region, according to people familiar with the matter.
Resort Loan Tokenization Plan
The token was designed to give investors a share of revenue from loans financing the Trump branded resort. In February, World Liberty Financial partnered with a real world asset tokenization platform to represent the resort’s loan interests as a tradable onchain token. No new listing date has been confirmed.
WLFI rose by 2.7% on the news before giving back all .

Part of Broader Tokenization Push
The project is one piece of World Liberty Financial’s wider tokenization strategy, which also extends into commodities such as oil and gas. The company’s native token briefly rose on the news before erasing gains, and remains down sharply from its record high last year.
