Trump to Open America’s 250th Anniversary Celebration After Performer Withdrawals

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to headline the opening of a major event celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States after several scheduled musical performers withdrew from the program.

The celebration will begin with the Great American State Fair, a 16-day event running from June 25 to July 10 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Organizers said the fair will feature state pavilions, exhibits, rides, attractions and entertainment stretching from the U.S. Capitol to the Washington Monument.

Trump is now expected to officially launch the festivities, with organizers describing his appearance as the opening moment of the historic celebration.

Performer Cancellations Impact Event Lineup

The event’s entertainment schedule has faced challenges after multiple artists decided to withdraw. Bret Michaels, lead singer of the rock band Poison, became the fifth performer to leave the lineup, saying the event was not the nonpartisan celebration he originally believed it would be.

Organizers have not publicly provided detailed explanations regarding the cancellations.

Freedom 250 Plans Continue Despite Changes

The anniversary event is being coordinated by Freedom 250, a public-private partnership established to help organize activities marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.

In a truth social post, Trump suggested that if more performers withdraw, a large public rally on the National Mall could replace portions of the concert program. He said his team is exploring the possibility of holding an “America Is Back” rally as part of the celebration.

Despite recent lineup changes, organizers continue preparations for what is expected to be one of the largest national anniversary events in recent history.
