A Ukrainian drone attack struck the central Russian city of Ryazan on May 15, killing three people and injuring at least 12 others, including children, according to regional officials. The strike hit residential areas and an industrial site, causing widespread damage and fires in multiple apartment blocks.
Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov said two high rise residential buildings were damaged after drones exploded over the city. Falling debris also impacted an industrial facility, though authorities did not disclose the name of the site. Emergency services were deployed to rescue residents trapped inside affected buildings.
Unofficial reports and social media footage showed smoke rising from damaged apartments, with some entrances blocked by debris, preventing evacuation. Several units were reported burning following the impact.

Ryazan is located about 200 kilometers southeast of Moscow and is home to a major oil refinery, making it a strategically significant industrial region. Authorities have not yet provided further details on the scale of infrastructure damage or the drones used in the attack.
