US Military Reports Redirecting 12 Vessels In Renewed Iran Blockade

The US military says it has redirected 12 commercial vessels attempting to breach its renewed blockade of Iranian ports, according to a statement from US Central Command. The update reflects the scale of enforcement activity as the blockade continues.

Two Ships Disabled, Two Boarded For Compliance

Central Command said two vessels that failed to comply with orders were disabled, while two others were boarded to ensure full compliance with blockade restrictions. In one case, US forces completed a verification boarding of the Comoros-flagged tanker M/T Charminar in the Arabian Sea on Saturday, after which the vessel was allowed to continue its journey.

Mozambique-Flagged Tanker Disabled After Repeated Violations

According to the statement, US forces disabled the Mozambique-flagged tanker M/T Lavine in the Gulf of Oman on July 24, after its crew attempted to breach the blockade multiple times and ignored repeated warnings. Central Command confirmed the vessel is no longer heading toward Iran and released footage showing the operation against the ship.
