Iran’s Sharp Response
In reply, a top Iranian security official declared that if the economic pressure continues, the country will completely stop oil shipments through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Any nation backing the sanctions, he warned, would be treated as taking part in an act of war against Iran.
Diplomacy Still Struggling
Despite months of conflict and no direct talks since June, countries like Pakistan, Qatar and Turkey are still pushing for peace. Pakistan’s army chief is expected to visit Tehran soon to discuss the worsening situation.
