World has officially launched World Money, a self-custody financial application that combines stablecoin payments, digital asset rewards, and cryptocurrency trading into a single platform. The rollout began Thursday across more than 150 countries, though available features vary depending on location.
Core Features Include Transfers, Rewards, and Trading
Through the app, users can send supported digital assets, including stablecoins, directly to another user’s World username. The platform also allows users to deposit eligible assets to earn rewards and buy or sell digital assets through integrated exchange functionality. Additionally, users can access third-party Mini Apps, including services like Kalshi, Credit, and Morpho, expanding the app’s overall utility. A partnership with Stripe also enables users, starting in the United States, to fund their accounts and purchase stablecoins using Apple Pay.

Part of a Broader Expansion Strategy
This launch continues World’s ongoing effort to expand financial capabilities since the original World App debuted in 2023, combining digital identity verification with crypto wallet functionality. The company later introduced a broader “super app” model in 2024, adding third party integrations and asset-earning features. In late 2025, World also began piloting virtual bank accounts in the U.S., allowing users to receive paychecks and bank deposits that convert automatically into USDC.
Identity and Finance Now Split Into Separate Apps
With this latest update, World has restructured its ecosystem into two distinct applications. The World ID App will continue handling identity verification and credentials, while World Money will manage wallet functions, payments, and other financial services. Existing users of either app can access World Money using their current accounts. The platform is operated by Tools for Humanity, the company co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania.
