Some individuals said they received as many as ten such messages within just a few hours, sparking speculation about a possible coordinated account-takeover attempt.

Since X plays a central role in crypto communication for announcements and market discussion, many users voiced concern over the timing and scale of the reset emails. One prominent investor urged others to enable a platform security feature that adds an extra verification step before a reset request can proceed. Another user noted repeated reset attempts despite having two-factor authentication active.

No Confirmed Breach So Far

Security experts point out that password reset requests can be triggered using only a public username, meaning the surge does not necessarily indicate that email addresses were exposed. As of now, there is no confirmed evidence of a system-wide breach, and the platform has not issued an official statement addressing the incident.
