Zcash Backers Hire a Washington Lobbyist to Shape US Crypto Rules
A group called Pretty Good Policy for Zcash (PGPZ) has formally registered to lobby in the US capital, with the filing taking effect on October 1. Executive director Divij Pandya is listed as its only lobbyist, and the paperwork names the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act and two digital asset tax proposals among the issues it is working on or expects to cover.

Background of Pretty Good Policy for Zcash
PGPZ started in June and grew out of Pretty Good Policy for Crypto, an effort Electric Coin Co. began in 2022. That earlier project held policy roundtables in Washington and organized a congressional briefing on encryption technology in 2023.
Zcash Policy Goals and Funding
Founder Paul Brigner, who also serves as chief policy and regulatory officer at ZODL, says the aim is to give Zcash a serious, organized and credible voice with lawmakers. He argues that decisions being made now could determine whether privacy-focused digital cash can exist, be used legally and serve the public interest. In August, Zcash Community Grants approved $750,000 to fund the group’s first year of work.
