xTAO, a publicly listed company focused on the Bittensor ecosystem, has revealed it now holds 41,538 TAO tokens, making it the largest public holder of TAO to date. At current market rates, this position is valued at $15.8 million.
xTAO Aims to Build Infrastructure on Bittensor
The company announced its position on Wednesday, highlighting its strategy to support and expand the Bittensor network. Karia Samaroo, CEO of xTAO, emphasized the firm’s vision to “build core infrastructure, earn sustainable cash flow, and compound value alongside the Bittensor network.”
“The TAO treasury gives us immediate economic exposure to Bittensor and the fuel to stand up validators that generate reliable revenue,” said Samaroo.
xTAO also stated that it maintains significant cash reserves allocated for future TAO acquisitions, indicating continued commitment to growing its stake.
Surpassing TAOX in Public TAO Holdings
This announcement places xTAO ahead of TAO Synergies (TAOX), which recently disclosed it holds 29,899 TAO, worth around $10 million. The difference in holdings establishes xTAO as the leading publicly traded firm with the largest exposure to Bittensor.
Leadership with Proven Crypto Track Record
Karia Samaroo, who leads xTAO, previously founded the crypto exchange WonderFi. The platform gained prominence before being acquired by Robinhood for $180 million. Samaroo’s return to Web3 through xTAO reflects confidence in Bittensor’s decentralized AI infrastructure and its long-term potential.
Bittensor Ecosystem Attracts Institutional Interest
Bittensor’s native token TAO has seen rising demand as more institutional and public companies recognize the network’s unique role in powering decentralized machine learning and AI protocols. By operating validators and acquiring treasury assets, firms like xTAO are positioning themselves at the center of this emerging ecosystem.
With $16 million in TAO and plans to scale further, xTAO is making a bold bet on the future of decentralized AI — and it now leads the public market in doing so.
