Binance Sees $2.3 Billion in Net Inflows as Withdrawals Expand After Record Hack

Binance took in about $2.3 billion more than it paid out over the past 24 hours, topping all centralized exchanges tracked by DefiLlama. Bitfinex followed with roughly $280 million and Bitget with about $127 million. The swing is sharp, since Monday brought more than $7 billion in net outflows, when OKX led the table with $445 million in inflows. Binance said that by 03:00 UTC on Tuesday, hourly deposits were beating withdrawals, a sign that user activity is settling.

How Binance Restored Access After the Hack

The exchange froze withdrawals on Friday after Thursday’s $6.3 billion theft and began reopening them at 06:00 UTC on Sunday. Some fiat currencies came back on Monday, just as outflows started to ease. Binance says it has replaced about 95% of the affected assets, while the last 5% is made up of less liquid tokens that take longer to buy on the market and through private deals.

Binance Loss Coverage and North Korea Denial

Binance has promised to absorb the losses with company funds and protection reserves, without passing costs on to customers. The FBI pointed to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group on Saturday, but Kim Yo Jong rejected the claim on Tuesday and called it absurd rhetoric.
