What Zelenskiy and Russia Said
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said aerial bombs hit the school as residents arrived for the weekly handout of humanitarian packages, followed by another strike on the shelter. He called it a terrorist attack and said Moscow could not have been unaware of the gathering. Russia’s Defence Ministry said it targeted Ukrainian military units near three settlements and claimed up to 25 servicemen were killed. Both sides deny deliberately hitting civilians.
Reactions After the Oleshky Ceasefire
The strike came a day after the six-day truce around Oleshky ended. Zelenskiy said Russia missed a chance to build on that humanitarian mission. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the attack and urged countries to shun Russian participation in top-level sport after a ruling ordering its return to major tournaments.
