Bitcoin ETFs Barely Stay Positive as Friday Surge Offsets Weekly Losses
US spot bitcoin ETFs narrowly avoided a second consecutive negative week, closing with just $6.2 million in net inflows after a strong $433 million surge on Friday. That single-day boost marked the funds' largest daily inflow since early September, helping offset heavier withdrawals earlier in the week.

US spot bitcoin ETFs narrowly avoided a second consecutive negative week, closing with just $6.2 million in net inflows after a strong $433 million surge on Friday. That single-day boost marked the funds’ largest daily inflow since early September, helping offset heavier withdrawals earlier in the week.

Fidelity’s FBTC accounted for the bulk of Friday’s gains, contributing roughly $311 million, while BlackRock’s IBIT added another $108 million. Smaller amounts flowed into funds managed by Bitwise, VanEck, and Ark/21Shares.
A Volatile Week for Bitcoin Funds
The week began with a modest Monday inflow before sharp outflows hit Tuesday and Wednesday, pushing the funds deep into negative territory. A partial Thursday recovery wasn’t enough to fully offset losses, leaving Friday’s rally to close the gap. Despite the positive finish, bitcoin ETFs remain down roughly $1.45 billion in net flows for the year, even as cumulative inflows since launch stand above $55 billion.
Ether ETFs Snap Four-Week Winning Streak
Ether funds weren’t as fortunate, posting a weekly outflow of $140 million despite pulling in nearly $144 million on Friday alone. Three consecutive days of outflows earlier in the week proved too steep to overcome, ending a month-long streak of positive weekly flows.
Individual Fund Performance Mixed
BlackRock’s ETHA and Fidelity’s FETH both posted net weekly losses despite strong Friday contributions. Even with this setback, ether ETFs remain positive for the year overall, holding significant net assets and cumulative inflows since their launch.
Trading volume increased notably across both bitcoin and ether ETF categories compared to the previous week, reflecting heightened market activity following recent regulatory and macroeconomic developments.
