Coldcard Exploit Continues to Weigh on Sentiment
The muted crypto reaction comes as a hardware wallet vulnerability tied to Coldcard devices continues draining funds. A third wave of thefts over the weekend pushed total observed losses to roughly 1,367 bitcoin, worth close to $89 million, spread across more than 4,500 addresses. Each successive wave has targeted smaller wallet balances, suggesting the attacker has moved from larger holdings to cleaning out modest accounts.
Traditional Markets Rally on Iran Talks
Oil prices fell sharply after President Trump said he called off a planned strike on Iran and would pursue negotiations. Treasury yields eased, stock futures gained, and gold ticked higher, all typically supportive conditions for crypto that failed to translate into gains this time.
