Swiss crypto firm Bitcoin Suisse plans to relocate up to half of its Swiss workforce abroad as part of a broader international expansion strategy. The restructuring could affect as many as 60 of the company’s 120 Swiss positions, mainly in back-office and administrative functions, according to a report from Swiss financial outlet Finews.

Bratislava and Vietnam Chosen as New Hubs

The affected roles are expected to shift to lower-cost locations in Bratislava, along with a new operational base the company plans to establish in Vietnam. CEO Andrej Majcen said the move was primarily driven by cost savings, noting that running these functions from the two countries would be considerably cheaper than keeping them in Switzerland. He stressed the decision was not linked to any weakness in the crypto market but was instead tied to the firm’s push to grow internationally.

Part of a Broader Global Expansion

Founded in Zug in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse offers crypto trading, custody, staking and lending services. The company has been positioning itself as a global wealth management platform, targeting institutional clients and high-net-worth individuals, and has recently secured regulatory licenses in Liechtenstein, Bermuda and Abu Dhabi.
