Hiring Focused on Engineering and Institutional Roles
The exchange is primarily looking to add engineers, customer service staff, relationship managers and institutional sales representatives at its Singapore office, located at One Raffles Quay. Hassan Ahmed, Coinbase’s country director for Singapore, said the city-state is becoming an increasingly strategic base for crypto y innovation.
License From Monetary Authority Backs Expansion
Coinbase secured a major payment institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore in October 2023, allowing it to offer services to individuals and institutions in the country. As of Thursday, the regulator’s directory listed 38 licensed digital payment token service providers.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore tightened its licensing requirements in 2025, prompting several unlicensed firms to exit the market. Coinbase’s continued expansion comes despite the company undergoing broader global restructuring elsewhere.
