Crypto Brokerage Caleb & Brown Launches in UK, Targets Wealthy Investors

Australian crypto brokerage Caleb & Brown has expanded into the UK, extending its wealth focused services beyond its existing presence in Australia and the US. The move comes a year after Swyftx Group acquired the boutique brokerage in a deal valued at more than $100 million. Rather than competing with retail exchanges, the firm plans to focus specifically on high-net-worth clients.

The move comes a year after Swyftx Group acquired the boutique brokerage in a deal valued at more than $100 million. Rather than competing with retail exchanges, the firm plans to focus specifically on high-net-worth clients.

Why the UK Appealed to Swyftx

Swyftx Group co-CEO Andrea Yuen described the UK as an “untapped opportunity,” pointing out that crypto adoption there lags well behind other major markets. She noted that Bitcoin and alternative asset investment levels in the UK run four to five times lower compared to regions like the US, Asia and Australia.

Chainalysis’ 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index places the UK 11th worldwide, trailing behind Russia, the Philippines and Ukraine. Separately, the Financial Conduct Authority reported that 8% of UK residents currently own crypto, a slight dip from the previous year, even as the average value held per investor has grown.

A Gap in Private Client Services

Yuen argued that the UK, despite being one of the world’s oldest and most sophisticated financial hubs, remains underserved when it comes to private digital asset offerings. She said the standard retail exchange experience doesn’t always suit this type of investor, creating room for a more tailored, personal service built around customized execution.
