Number of exploits per month

Over $600 Million Lost Across Multiple Attacks

Estimates from market observers place total losses at over $600 million. The largest incident involved Kelp DAO, which suffered a $292 million exploit, triggering concerns across lending platforms. Aave was among those impacted, with emergency liquidity measures introduced to stabilize the ecosystem.

Another major breach hit Drift Protocol, resulting in losses exceeding $280 million, ranking as the second-largest attack of the month.

Cross-Chain Vulnerabilities and Exploit Methods

Smaller but significant incidents also emerged, including a $2.5 million exploit targeting Hyperbridge on Polkadot. Attackers manipulated cross-chain verification mechanisms, minting and dumping large volumes of tokens.

Security analysts noted that many attacks were not purely technical flaws but involved prolonged social engineering efforts targeting admin access.

Rising Threat Landscape in Crypto

The surge in exploit frequency highlights growing risks within decentralized finance. Analysts warn that increasingly sophisticated attack methods, including human-targeted breaches, are reshaping the threat landscape and demanding stronger security practices across protocols.
