Crypto related stocks bounced back strongly on Friday, reversing earlier losses tied to the Senate’s failure to advance major crypto legislation earlier in the week. The rally coincided with bitcoin climbing back above $81,000.
Strategy led gains among crypto linked equities, rising more than 13%, while Coinbase and American Bitcoin each climbed roughly 11%. Robinhood gained nearly 9%, with the broader rally extending to companies like Circle, Strive, and bitcoin mining firm Riot Platforms, each posting gains between 5% and 7%.

Reversal From Earlier Losses
The rebound follows a sharp selloff earlier in the week after the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act, a bill that would have established comprehensive crypto regulation. That setback had sent Coinbase and Circle down roughly 10%, while Strategy, Strive, and American Bitcoin also posted notable declines.
Regulators Step In Without Legislation
Since the failed vote, US financial regulators have moved forward independently using their existing authority. This week alone, the CFTC granted relief to passive trading software providers, while the SEC temporarily eased requirements for platforms facilitating onchain trading of tokenized securities.
Additional Regulatory Steps Underway
The CFTC also submitted a broader crypto market regulatory proposal to the White House for review, though specific details of the planned rules have not yet been disclosed.
The rebound in crypto stocks suggests investors view continued regulatory progress from agencies as a viable path forward, even without new congressional action establishing a formal legal framework for the industry.
