Which Asian markets will come first has not been made clear.

Deutsche Bank intends to take its crypto custody service to Asia in 2027, building on a German launch expected within weeks. The plan was outlined by the co-head of its corporate bank, who said the lender will also offer stablecoin conversion, tokenized deposits and tools that help clients issue digital bonds and other blockchain-based securities. Which Asian markets will come first has not been made clear.
Institutional Crypto Custody Service Explained
The service is built for corporate and institutional clients, who will be able to hold and transfer digital assets while the bank runs the technology that keeps them safe. That means the bank manages the wallets and private keys, so clients do not have to. The first version will support bitcoin, ether and the stablecoins USDC, EURC and EURAU, as the bank said in September.
Deutsche Bank MiCA Approval and Growth Targets
The German launch still depends on regulatory approval. Even so, the bank received authorization from BaFin under the EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets rules on October 12, according to the European Securities and Markets Authority’s interim register. Podobnik said the expansion supports the bank’s goal of roughly 8% compound annual revenue growth in its corporate bank between 2025 and 2028.
Banks Competing in Crypto Custody
The Asia rollout would carry the service beyond Europe as banks seek a bigger role in managing digital assets for institutions. Deutsche Bank has worked with Bitpanda and Taurus on its custody plans, and it joins rivals such as Standard Chartered and BBVA that already offer crypto custody.
