Iran’s parliament is considering a bill that would require the government to pay €50 million to any person or group that kills US President Donald Trump. The proposal was described by a senior lawmaker as part of retaliation for the killing of Iranian leaders and military commanders.
Ebrahim Azizi, head of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said lawmakers have prepared several bills since the March war, including measures described as “countermeasures by military and security forces.”
Lawmaker statements and targets mentioned
Azizi said the bill includes Trump, the Israeli prime minister, and a US military commander, calling for “reciprocal action.” He added that if any natural or legal person carries out this act, the Iranian government would be required to pay the €50 million reward.
Background and reported campaigns
Earlier reports mentioned online campaigns in Iran promoting reward based actions, with claims of hundreds of thousands of supporters and millions in pledged funds. US authorities have also previously investigated alleged Iran linked assassination plots involving Trump during the 2024 election period.
Trump has faced threats since ordering the 2020 killing of Qassem Soleimani, commander of Iran’s IRGC Quds Force.
