Iran Says No Agreement Reached on Highly Enriched Uranium Stockpile

Iran has not agreed to hand over its stockpile of highly enriched uranium as part of the current understanding with the United States, according to a senior Iranian source familiar with the negotiations.

The clarification comes after speculation that Tehran may have accepted limits on its nuclear material under an emerging diplomatic framework aimed at easing tensions and moving toward a broader peace arrangement.

Iran Highly Enriched Uranium Still Under Discussion

According to the senior source, Iran’s nuclear program is not included in the preliminary agreement currently being discussed with Washington. Instead, the matter is expected to be addressed during negotiations over a final and more comprehensive deal.

The source said there has been no agreement to transfer Iran’s highly enriched uranium outside the country, pushing back against reports suggesting Tehran had already accepted such conditions.

Diplomatic discussions are continuing, but major issues remain unresolved. Iran maintains that any future agreement on uranium enrichment and nuclear oversight will only be decided in later negotiations tied to a long-term settlement.
