The Israeli military says it is preparing for the possibility of Iranian missile attacks after carrying out a strike against Hezbollah in Beirut earlier on Sunday.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir held a high-level security assessment with senior military commanders following the operation. The current military assessment is that Iran could respond by launching missiles toward Israel in the coming hours.
Military Maintains Defensive and Offensive Preparedness
The IDF stated that it remains on high alert and is preparing for a range of possible scenarios. Military officials emphasized that Israel is maintaining both defensive and offensive readiness as tensions continue to rise across the region.
The statement also reiterated that Israel would not tolerate attacks targeting its territory and would respond to threats against the country.
No Changes to Civilian Security Guidelines
Despite concerns over a potential Iranian response, Israeli authorities have not announced any immediate changes to civilian safety instructions.
The Home Front Command, which oversees emergency preparedness and public safety measures, has kept existing guidelines unchanged for residents across the country.
