Zelenskiy Says Ceasefire Can Work With US Pressure

Speaking at a conference in Warsaw, Zelenskiy said the energy ceasefire can become a major step toward ending the war if Americans make sure Russians respect it. He repeated that elections could be held if Moscow agrees to a 60 day full ceasefire.

Strikes Kill Civilians in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, rescue workers searched wrecked buildings after nighttime attacks killed at least three people. Morning strikes wounded at least 22 more. Three others died Sunday in Ivano Frankivsk. One resident said only ten minutes had passed since strikes on energy facilities were promised to stop.

The EU approved its largest sanctions package since 2022, while foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas urged the US to keep pressure on Moscow. Germany’s Friedrich Merz said sanctions must be tightened after attacks on civilian energy infrastructure.
