Ledger Hack Expands to Europe After $93.4 Million Asia Losses
A tampered Ledger hardware wallet attack that drained an estimated $93.4 million from users in Asia has now reportedly reached Europe.

A tampered Ledger hardware wallet attack that drained an estimated $93.4 million from users in Asia has now reportedly reached Europe.
An X user known as Johannes shared photos of a modified Ledger he said he bought two weeks ago from the electronics chain MediaMarkt. No funds were stolen from his device.
Implant Matches Earlier Asian Version
Johannes said the implant inside appears to be an earlier version of the one found in devices sold by the Asian reseller CryptoBilis.

Former Mt Gox CEO Mark Karpeles, who helped expose the Asian cases, said the antenna marking suggests an Eurasian version of the implant, meaning attackers may have built separate versions for regions using different mobile frequencies.
Ledger Response to the Growing Threat
Ledger has asked CryptoBilis to halt sales and shipments, and advised buyers from the past 90 days to move their assets to a new device. The company said the number of impacted devices is limited but has not confirmed the European case is linked to the same attack.
Cybersecurity outlet Yfarmx estimated total losses at $93.4 million across 471 addresses, a figure Ledger has not verified.
