ATF Proposal Would Allow Home Delivery Of Firearms
A new ATF rule would let licensed dealers ship guns straight to buyers’ homes after an online background check, ID verification, and a seven day wait with police notified. Online buyers currently must pick up guns in person.
Trump Jr.’s Company Could Gain
Donald Trump Jr., a shareholder and board member at online retailer GrabAGun, could benefit if the rule passes. His spokesperson, Andrew Surabian, said Trump Jr. had zero involvement. GrabAGun’s CEO, Marc Nemati, said he was caught off guard too. ATF’s chief counsel, Robert Leider, said he didn’t know about the Trump Jr. connection until asked, and the White House denied any contact with him on the issue.

Supporters And Critics Disagree
ATF estimates 3.3 million buyers yearly could choose delivery, saving $103.7 million in travel costs. Everytown advisor Marianna Mitchem and Giffords spokesperson Aneesa McMillan warn of trafficking and straw purchases. Shop owner Chrystal Santos and Hyatt Guns’ Justin Anderson worry about lost safety checks and business. Public comments close in August.
