Ripple Eyes $13 Trillion Opportunity for RLUSD in Corporate Treasuries
Ripple is looking to corporate treasury customers as the next major growth driver for its RLUSD stablecoin, according to Jack McDonald, the company's senior vice president of stablecoins. He said Ripple Treasury, built around last year's $1 billion acquisition of GTreasury, serves roughly 1,200 corporate treasurers and CFOs who collectively handle about $13 trillion in annual transactions, representing a largely untapped opportunity to bring traditional finance onto blockchain rails.

RLUSD Supply and Daily Activity Growing Rapidly
RLUSD’s circulating supply has grown to $2.4 billion, up more than 50 percent over the past month, with roughly $1 billion on the XRP Ledger and $1.4 billion on Ethereum. McDonald said daily activity is a bigger priority than market capitalization, noting that daily usage has more than tripled this year, rising from about $200 million to roughly $750 million.
Payments and Capital Markets Fuel Adoption
Adoption is currently concentrated in payments and capital markets, where RLUSD is used for settlement, collateral, and the cash leg of transactions. Ripple has partnered with firms including Franklin Templeton and DBS on tokenized money-market funds and lending, while also integrating RLUSD into Ripple Prime, its institutional brokerage arm built from the Hidden Road acquisition.
Ripple Plans European Expansion Under MiCA
Ripple is working toward offering RLUSD in Europe through a dual-issuance structure compliant with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. The company has already secured regulatory authorization in Luxembourg, which McDonald said could support a broader MiCA compliant business spanning stablecoins, payments, custody, and trading. RLUSD is also expanding to additional blockchain networks, including Base, Ink, Optimism, and Unichain.
