People were reportedly trapped inside a residential building following the attack. A five-storey apartment complex and a three-storey residential block sustained damage from falling debris, the Kyiv Military Administration said, urging residents to take shelter.

Poland Responds as Explosions Echo Nearby

Neighboring Poland activated military aviation operations to guard its airspace as blasts were heard across Kyiv, with the NATO and EU member citing the risk of violation.

Strikes Follow Departure of US Negotiators

The renewed assault came shortly after American envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff left Kyiv following weekend talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The visit followed discussions in Moscow, after which the Kremlin signaled it had not ruled out restarting three-way peace negotiations. Separately, Ukrainian drones struck infrastructure in Russia’s Saratov region, home to a major refinery operated by state-run Rosneft, injuring several people.
