Deadly Strikes Hit Kyiv and Dnipro

The southeastern city of Dnipro suffered some of the heaviest damage, with regional authorities reporting five deaths and 25 injuries. Images released by local officials showed damaged residential buildings, destroyed vehicles, and debris scattered across neighborhoods.

In the capital, Kyiv, four people were killed and at least 51 others injured, including children. Emergency services responded to multiple fires and building collapses after missile strikes and falling debris hit residential areas.

Residents Seek Shelter as Air Raid Alerts Sound

Thousands of Kyiv residents reportedly took shelter in subway stations during the attack as air defense systems worked to intercept incoming missiles and drones.

A 24-story apartment building sustained severe damage, and officials warned that some residents could still be trapped beneath the rubble.

Ukraine Warns of Further Russian Attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously warned that intelligence reports suggested Russia was preparing a major assault. Russian officials recently indicated they would intensify strikes against military and government-related targets in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, authorities in Russia reported a fire at the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region following a drone attack, while air defenses were also activated in occupied Crimea.
