Podilskyi District Hit Hardest
Four residential buildings were struck in Kyiv’s historic Podilskyi district, where two bodies were recovered from a heavily damaged apartment building. Rescue workers pulled 15 people, including three women and six children, from the upper floors of a partially collapsed building in the area.

Casualties Reported In Eastern Kyiv
Two more deaths were confirmed in the city’s Darnytskyi district after drone debris struck a 25-storey apartment building, with rescue teams working to free residents trapped on higher floors. A fire also broke out in a nearby 30-storey building that had already been damaged in a deadly strike days earlier.
Air Defenses Activated, Neighboring Poland On Alert
Witnesses reported multiple explosions across the capital as air defense systems engaged incoming drones. Residents sought shelter in metro stations and underground parking garages as smoke spread through parts of the city. Poland, a NATO member bordering Ukraine, briefly scrambled fighter jets as a precaution. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had earlier warned of an incoming attack.
