Senate’s Path Forward On CLARITY Act Remains Unclear Before Recess
With just two days remaining before the Senate's scheduled recess, lawmakers still haven't confirmed whether they'll vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The bill could wait until September, but the Senate only has about 14 working days that month and October combined, making a smooth path uncertain once midterm campaign season kicks in.

Ethics Language And Other Provisions Still Unresolved
Key details remain under negotiation, including provisions on illicit finance, agriculture issues, and ethics rules meant to stop senior officials like President Trump from profiting off crypto. The White House is reviewing an ethics proposal from Senators Thom Tillis and Ruben Gallego, sent last week. Tillis told reporters the White House has started engaging with it, according to Punchbowl News’ Brendan Pedersen.

What Happens If The Senate Stays Or Leaves
Majority Leader John Thune could file cloture and push through a procedural vote before Friday, or the Senate could extend its session into the weekend or next week, partly due to the pending nomination of Todd Blanche for Attorney General. If a vote succeeds, the bill moves toward final passage in September. If it fails, CLARITY likely stalls until after the midterm elections.
Competing Priorities Crowd The Senate Floor
Beyond CLARITY, the Senate is also handling a government funding resolution, a Russia sanctions bill, and a college sports bill, all competing for limited floor time this week.
