Singapore based payments company dtcpay has completed its $25 million Series A funding round, initially led earlier this year by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India and now further strengthened by Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group. The round also included participation from Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek.

The company said the investment reflects strong institutional confidence in its mission to make stablecoin payments as seamless as traditional financial transactions. Dtcpay’s founder and CEO said the funding wasn’t meant to preserve the current business, but to fundamentally reshape how money moves across international borders.

Company Evolution Over the Years

Dtcpay originally launched a payment system supporting both fiat currency and cryptocurrencies for in-store and online transactions. It later shifted its focus exclusively to stablecoin transactions, phasing out support for other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Today, its Visa card enables spending across fiat and stablecoins at more than 150 million merchant locations worldwide.

Backing From Established Financial Players

Vertex Ventures, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, brings significant experience scaling technology companies, having led the round’s initial funding. SBI Group operates broadly across banking, securities, insurance, and digital assets. Genedant Capital, a Singapore-based licensed fund manager, oversees more than $2 billion in assets.

Strong Regulatory Footprint

Dtcpay holds licensing from Singapore’s central bank along with an Electronic Money Institution license in Luxembourg, allowing it to offer regulated payment services across the European Economic Area. The company also maintains licenses and registrations in Hong Kong, Australia, the United States, and Canada.
