Slovenia has appeared for the first time in the European Union’s official register of electronic money token issuers under the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation, marking a milestone for the country’s digital finance sector. Dinaro, a Slovenia-based electronic money institution supervised by the Bank of Slovenia, was added to the list in the latest update from the European Securities and Markets Authority.

What Dinaro Brings to the Table

Dinaro offers payment services including card issuing and acquiring, and holds a principal membership with a major card network. Its listing marks the country’s debut on the EU’s electronic money token dataset, bringing the total number of entries on that register to 43.

Broader Changes to the Crypto Service Provider List

The same update also revised the EU’s register of authorized crypto-asset service providers, which now includes 325 companies following the addition of a Czech lender and a German bank. Meanwhile, one previously listed Czech firm, which had been authorized earlier this year to execute client orders and provide crypto-asset advice, no longer appears on the list.

Other Registry Categories Remain Unchanged

The asset-referenced token register remains empty, while the list of non-compliant entities held steady at 167, showing limited movement across other parts of the EU’s crypto oversight framework this update.
