Tether Expands Tokenization Business Into Saudi Arabia With Real Estate Focus
Tether, the company behind USDT, the world's most widely used stablecoin, is extending its tokenization business into Saudi Arabia, starting with institutional-grade real estate assets.

Tether, the company behind USDT, the world’s most widely used stablecoin, is extending its tokenization business into Saudi Arabia, starting with institutional-grade real estate assets.
Hadron Platform Powers New Expansion
The company announced Thursday that its tokenization platform, called Hadron, will supply the technology needed to issue and manage tokenized real estate assets for institutional investors in the kingdom. Tether is partnering with local firms First Data and fintech company BKN301 to carry out the rollout. According to the companies involved, the operating model could eventually expand beyond real estate into sectors such as energy and infrastructure finance.
Part of a Broader Tokenization Push
This move adds to Tether’s ongoing effort to grow beyond stablecoins and into asset tokenization, an area of blockchain technology that has been gaining traction across traditional finance. Tether launched Hadron back in 2024 to make asset tokenization simpler and also issues XAUT, currently the largest tokenized gold product in the market, valued at $2.6 billion. Banks and asset managers have increasingly explored tokenization for assets like money market funds, private credit, real estate, and equities, arguing it can improve settlement speed, expand investor access, and boost capital efficiency. Citi has projected the tokenized securities market could grow to $5.5 trillion by 2030.
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Strategy
Saudi Arabia has positioned itself as one of the countries actively exploring blockchain adoption as part of its Vision 2030 economic diversification plan, which includes deploying enterprise blockchain technology across financial services, government operations, and supply chain management. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said Vision 2030 makes Saudi Arabia a strong market to showcase what platforms like Hadron can accomplish.
