Tokenized Stock Trading Jumps 288% in July, But Single Token Fuels Most of the Surge

Trading volume for tokenized stocks and ETFs hit a record $11.3 billion in July, marking a 288% increase, though the bulk of that growth came from a single token tracking Invesco's QQQ ETF. Binance's bStocks accounted for $9.41 billion of the total, with the QQQB token alone generating $9.27 billion, roughly 82% of all tokenized-equity trading volume for the month.

Trading volume for tokenized stocks and ETFs hit a record $11.3 billion in July, marking a 288% increase, though the bulk of that growth came from a single token tracking Invesco’s QQQ ETF. Without QQQB, Market Actually Declined

Tokenized stock volume was closer to $2.03 billion, about 30% below June’s implied total of $2.91 billion. Other platforms saw notable drops as well, with xStocks volume falling to $335 million from $1.55 billion, while Ondo and Backpack recorded $792 million and $479 million respectively.

AI and Semiconductor Selloff Added to Volatility

Much of the market swing traced back to sharp declines in AI and semiconductor stocks, including a 22.1% drop in the iShares Semiconductor ETF, its worst month since 2002, and a 28.7% fall in Micron shares. Tokenized equities continue to appeal to traders seeking round the clock access to US stock exposure, particularly in regions with limited direct brokerage access.
