Trump and Netanyahu Discuss New Iran Peace Proposal as US Pushes War-End Agreement

A new diplomatic proposal aimed at ending the conflict between Iran and the United States has triggered fresh discussions between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to officials familiar with the matter, mediators are working on a “letter of intent” that would be signed by both Washington and Tehran to formally stop hostilities and begin a 30-day negotiation process.

The proposed talks would focus on key issues, including Iran’s nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes.

Trump and Netanyahu Hold Difficult Call Over Iran Talks

Sources said Trump and Netanyahu held a lengthy and difficult phone call on Tuesday, with disagreements reportedly emerging over how to handle Iran. Netanyahu remains deeply skeptical about diplomacy and reportedly favors further military pressure to weaken Iran’s capabilities.

Trump, however, has continued to express hope for a diplomatic outcome while warning that military action could return quickly if negotiations fail.

Regional Mediators Push for Breakthrough

Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt have reportedly worked together in recent days to revise peace proposals and bridge differences between both sides. Iran confirmed it is reviewing an updated proposal but has not yet signaled major flexibility.

Iranian officials continue to demand the release of frozen funds, an end to pressure on Iranian shipping and broader regional de-escalation as conditions for progress in talks.
