U.S. President Donald Trump has called for an end to military attacks in Lebanon, urging both Israel and Hezbollah to avoid further escalation as diplomatic efforts continue to secure a broader regional peace agreement.
In a statement posted on truthsocial, Trump said there should be no more Israeli attacks anywhere in Lebanon while also stressing that Hezbollah must stop launching attacks against Israel. He described the current moment as a potential opportunity for lasting peace and warned ag

ainst actions that could undermine negotiations.
Israeli Strikes Hit Beirut Amid Rising Tensions
Despite ongoing diplomatic discussions, Israel carried out airstrikes in Beirut on Sunday, targeting what the military described as Hezbollah infrastructure. Smoke was seen rising over parts of the Lebanese capital following the attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the strikes were a response to Hezbollah rocket fire into northern Israel. The Israeli military reported that three projectiles were launched from Lebanon earlier in the day.
Peace Negotiations Face New Challenges
The latest strikes threaten to complicate ongoing efforts to secure a broader agreement involving Iran, the United States and regional mediators. Iran has reportedly sought a ceasefire arrangement that also addresses the conflict in Lebanon and includes the release of frozen financial assets.
Civilian Impact and Regional Concerns
The strike damaged a residential building in Beirut’s southern suburbs, prompting residents to flee the area. Many had recently returned following a period of relative calm.
As negotiations continue, regional leaders and international mediators remain focused on preventing further escalation while working toward a potential agreement that could reduce tensions across the Middle East.
