Why This Bitcoin Transfer Is Drawing Attention

The coins came from addresses labeled as collateral for the company’s 2028 convertible notes. Its second quarter filing listed 4,260.73 BTC pledged for those notes as of June 30, with withdrawals restricted under the loan terms. The labels fit that setup, but they do not explain the move. The amount equals about 30% of the roughly 14,139 BTC the company said it held on July 31, though that figure is outdated.

The November 30 Repurchase Deadline

A filing dated Nov. 2 says noteholders can demand repayment on Nov. 30, which could cost close to $1 billion. The company warned it might have to sell bitcoin if refinancing falls short.

Transfer Does Not Mean a Sale

A move to an exchange is not proof of selling. EyeOnChain noted it could be a custody step, although the size will get noticed. In May, about 2,650 BTC went to Crypto.com, and in August another 2,628 BTC followed. The company said both were transfers, not sales, and called the August one custody management. Crypto.com is one of its custody partners. Trump Media had not responded to a request for comment.
